AIR

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (tel (206) 433 5388; website www.portseattle.org/seatac/), also known as Seatac, is a major transport hub with flights throughout North America plus long-haul flights to Asia and Europe.

At $2, local bus routes 174 and 194 are the cheapest way to get into the city centre. The most frequent airport bus service is the Grayline-Airport Express, which costs $8.50 and runs every 15 minutes. The pricier Shuttle Express (tel (206) 622 1424 or 800 487 7433) costs $18 for a door-to-door airport shuttle service.

BUS & COACH

Greyhound coaches (tel (206) 628 5526; website www.greyhound.com) depart from the coach station at the corner of 8th Avenue and Stewart Street.

The Quick Shuttle (tel 800 655 2122; website www.quickcoach.com) run express buses to Vancouver. Quick Shuttle leaves from the Travelodge at 2213 8th Avenue.

FERRY

Washington State Ferries (tel (206) 464 6400; website www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries) sail from Seattle to destinations in Puget Sound including Bremerton, Bainbridge Island and Vashon Island.

In summer Clipper Navigation (tel (206) 448 5000) have ferries to San Juan Island and Victoria, BC, Canada.

TRAIN

Amtrak (tel 800 872 7245; website www.amtrak.com) trains run to Chicago, Portland, San Francisco and Vancouver. Trains leave from King Street Station at 303 South Jackson Street.
